Depleted Uranium Value Calculator - HELP

In times of high uranium market prices, depleted uranium stocks can be assigned a monetary value that can be realized by re-enrichment to natural-equivalent uranium.

For the case of re-enrichment of the depleted uranium, this calculator determines the secondary tails assay, at which the value of the depleted uranium is maximized for given prices of uranium, conversion, enrichment work, and waste management.
It uses the following assumptions:

Upon entry of an amount of a depleted uranium input in the Material Balance table, the Optimum Tails Assay (as weight-percent U-235) is determined for the actual parameters, once the "Calculate" button is clicked. All other fields of the Material Balance, as well as the Cost Summary, are calculated for the Optimum Tails Assay.

The parameters used for the calculation can be set in the Cost Parameters and Process Parameters tables. These parameters show reasonable initial values which can be modified as needed. There are no other hidden parameters used in the calculation.

Production losses during the conversion process.

Re-Enrichment: DU Feed Assay [wt_% U-235]
Weight-percent of the fissile isotope uranium-235 in the depleted uranium material that is fed into the re-enrichment plant. Typical values are in the 0.2 - 0.3 wt_% range.
